# CREASE — full reference Last updated: 2026-10-06 Canonical URL: https://playcrease.app/ ## TL;DR CREASE is a free, browser-based neon air hockey game made for the iPhone Duo, Apple's foldable (pre-orders October 16, 2026; on sale October 23, 2026). Open the phone: full table, two players, one on each side. Close it: pocket table, you vs the CPU (Easy, Normal, Hard). Fold it mid-match and the game keeps going. First to 7. On any other phone, portrait is the pocket table and landscape is the wide two-player table, with the glowing center line, the "crease," between the two halves. You can also play a live match against another person online, or play in VR on Meta Quest. It has a dark vaporwave look, a tap-to-boot intro, an animated cutscene, smash and bump mechanics, power-ups, and a synthwave soundtrack. It was created specifically around the iPhone Duo foldable-phone experience and works on any modern mobile or desktop browser. Built by prodbyKCTW (Melvin D. Brown III, Atlanta, GA). ## How to play - Drag your paddle. Stay on your side of the crease (the glowing center line). - First to 7 goals wins. - Portrait: pocket table, ideal for solo vs CPU. - Landscape: wide table, one player per side, each holding one half of the screen. - Rotate, resize, fold or unfold mid-match — the table adapts and the match keeps going. - Tip: on iPhone use Share → Add to Home Screen for true full-screen play. ## Online play Open https://playcrease.app/online.html. Tap QUICK MATCH to be paired with whoever else is looking for a game, or create a room and send a friend the invite link or room code. The server runs the puck, the score and the paddle limits, so a player can't move a paddle where the rules don't allow or invent a goal. You always play from the bottom of your screen. Free, no account. ## VR (Meta Quest) Open https://playcrease.app/vr.html in the Quest browser, pick your paddle hand and enter VR. Play the CPU with a controller (with haptic feedback), with hand tracking (the paddle follows your index finger; pinch to start), or by looking where you want the paddle. On a computer there is a desktop practice mode. ## Mechanics - SMASH: flick your paddle hard into the puck. It goes white-hot and faster. - BUMP: gold bumpers on the crease kick the puck. Score off one for a BANK SHOT. - Power-ups spawn on the crease; knock the puck through one to take it: BIG paddle, MULTI puck, WALL over your goal. - Hit and scoring effects: freeze-frames, screen shake, pop-up text, race-to-7 bars; the table pulses to the soundtrack. - Difficulty (solo): Easy, Normal, Hard. - Sound can be toggled on/off. ## Flow Tap to boot (unlocks sound) → prodbyKCTW studio logo → intro cutscene (the table unfolds out of the crease, a rally, a smash, the title; tap to skip, replay from the menu) → match. Winning plays a victory cutscene. Returning players skip the intro after their first match. A "Challenge a friend" link shares the game. ## Tech Single static index.html (HTML5 canvas + vanilla JavaScript), no build step, hosted on GitHub Pages. Optional anonymous analytics (disabled until configured; no names or contact details requested). Visit preferences and game totals stay in the player's browser. ## Frequently asked questions Q: What is CREASE? A: A free two-player neon air hockey game that runs in your browser — one screen, two players, first to 7. Solo vs CPU in portrait, head-to-head in landscape. Q: Is it free? A: Yes. No download, no account, no payment. Q: Can two people play on one phone? A: Yes. On the iPhone Duo, open it; on other phones, turn to landscape. Each player controls the paddle on their half of the screen. Q: Can I play against someone who is not next to me? A: Yes. Use online play: quick match pairs you with anyone looking for a game, or a room code lets you play a specific friend. Q: Does it work on iPhone? A: Yes — Safari and as a home-screen app. It also runs in Android Chrome and desktop browsers. Q: Is CREASE made for iPhone Duo? A: Yes. CREASE was created as an iPhone Duo game: a pocket table on the outer screen when closed (you vs the CPU) and a full two-player table on the inner screen when open. Folding or unfolding mid-match pauses for a beat, then the match continues with the score kept. It also works on other modern phones and browsers. The iPhone Duo goes on sale October 23, 2026, so physical iPhone Duo testing is still pending. Q: What are SMASH and BUMP? A: SMASH is flicking your paddle hard into the puck to make it faster. BUMP is bouncing the puck off the gold bumpers on the crease; scoring off one is a BANK SHOT. Q: Who made it? A: prodbyKCTW — Melvin D. Brown III, an independent developer and producer in the Atlanta area, co-founder of RARƎ AGENCY.
