Games for the iPhone Duo: free air hockey that plays through the fold
Apple's first foldable goes on sale Friday, October 23, 2026, with pre-orders from Friday, October 16. Apple says the hinge holds the inner display flat when it is open, and that content reacts as the phone folds. CREASE is a free air hockey game made for that: it changes with the phone instead of stopping.
What CREASE does on the iPhone Duo
- Open it: full table, two players
- The inner screen is a full air hockey table with one player on each side, each defending their own goal. The center line runs down the fold.
- Close it: pocket table, you vs the CPU
- The outer screen is a pocket table for one player against the computer, on easy, normal or hard.
- Fold it mid-match: the game keeps going
- Fold or unfold during a match and CREASE pauses for a beat while the screen changes, counts you back in, and carries on with the score kept.
No download, no sign-up. Works in Safari, Chrome and any modern browser, on any phone. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.
How it plays
- First to 7. Drag your paddle and stay on your side of the center line.
- SMASH: flick your paddle hard into the puck to send it in fast.
- BUMP: bounce the puck off the gold bumpers on the center line. Score off one and it counts as a bank shot.
- Solo, two on one phone, or online. Play the CPU; play a friend on the same phone; or open online play and tap quick match to be paired with another person, or share a room code to play someone specific.
- Also in VR. A Meta Quest version runs in the headset browser, played with a controller or hand tracking.
What to check in any iPhone Duo game
- Does it keep your game when you fold? Folding mid-game shouldn't restart a level or lose a score.
- Does it make sense closed? The outer screen is still a full 5.4-inch phone. A good game is playable there, not just on the big screen.
- Does it do something with the open screen beyond making things bigger? For CREASE, open means a second player.

Common questions
What games are made for the iPhone Duo?
CREASE is one: a free air hockey game made for it. Open the phone for two players, one on each side; close it for you vs the CPU; fold it mid-match and the game keeps going. It runs in the browser, so it is playable today, before the iPhone Duo goes on sale on October 23, 2026.
Do I need an iPhone Duo to play CREASE?
No. It runs in any modern browser on any phone, tablet or computer. On other phones, portrait is the pocket table and landscape is the full two-player table.
What happens if I fold the phone in the middle of a match?
The game pauses for a beat while the screen changes, counts you back in, and carries on with the score kept.
Has CREASE been tested on a real iPhone Duo?
Not yet. The iPhone Duo goes on sale October 23, 2026. Until then, CREASE is tested in browsers by resizing the screen mid-match, the same way folding changes it.
Is CREASE free?
Yes. Free, no download, no account, no payment.
Can two people play on one phone?
Yes. On the iPhone Duo, open it; on other phones, turn to landscape. Each player controls the paddle on their half of the screen.
Can I play other people online?
Yes. Online play pairs you with whoever else is looking for a game, or you can send a friend a room code. Free, no account.
Can I install it like an app?
Yes. In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. In Chrome, use Install app or Add to Home screen. It then opens full screen with its own icon.
